The second official assembly of the New Hope Housing Project was held yesterday.  The meeting focused on setting the housing association’s own internal maintenance fee of Q10 (approximately $1.20) and on neighborhood security.

In addition, the assembly of neighbors decided to ask for a government office to come and train them in how to run a neighborhood watch.

Says Tamalyn Gutierrez, country director, “It was great to hear a lot of ‘we can do it’ language, and yet to hear diverse opinions that were respectfully managed by the new leaders of this community.”
