Yesterday afternoon, sponsorship coordinator Jessie Szopinski passed along a couple of especially nice letters that a student, Deyvid Xicay, wrote to his Sponsors. Deyvid is a second grader at New Hope School.
To the Aavik family:
Hello, I greet you wishing you success in your daily duties. I am in 2nd grade of elementary school and today I learned about the Respiratory and Circulation System and to join the sets and work with my mind. I am sending you a picture, I am sorry I have not sent it before.
I look forward to hearing from you. I will be waiting for your letter and I am happy to know more about you. I send many greetings to you and to the rest of your family. I wish you success in this year.
With love, kisses and hugs,
To the Schneider Family:
I greet you cordially. I am in 2nd grade of elementary school and today I learned about the Respiratory System. I am sending you a picture where I was in the Olympics at school and I won the crawling competition. I also would like to let you know that I would like to thank you for always caring about me and for sending letters too, because through them I can get to know how you are. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kisses and hugs,
Says Jessie, “a lot of times letters don’t include the details of what a student learned in class. It made me smile knowing that Deyvid wants his Sponsors to know what happened on a particular day.” Once in awhile, these moments give us pause and help us remember what Common Hope’s work is all about. Do you have any especially memorable letters from students?
