98 high school graduates

This Saturday, we celebrated the graduation of 98 high school students — in a country where the average adult has only 5.4 years of education. In addition, 30 students were awarded competitive university scholarships and were honored with a special brunch. And, we celebrated ten sixth grade graduates from the indigenous village of San Rafael, who accomplished what few in their village have accomplished before. A number of Sponsors traveled to Guatemala for the occasion, making it extra special.

See pictures of the festivities below. Visit our blog for a story of a family that celebrated twice this fall — a graduation from high school and another graduation from university.
