San Miguel Milpas Altas coordinator Alma Marroquín and social worker Sofía Díaz had the pleasure last week of interviewing Heidy, a junior high student in our newest community.
“My name is Heidy, I am 14 years old and I live in San Miguel Milpas Altas. San Miguel is a place full of legends, mysteries, and agriculture. I am a student in 7th grade and I go to a school located in my village about a block from my house. I am happy to be going to school and to have the support of Common Hope. I am a young girl with many dreams and a lot of hope, but my biggest dream is to finish junior high and go on to study Hotel and Tourism Administration in high school. I want to study to become a flight attendant because my dream is to be on a plane. I like languages and I like my English class. I am studying English right now, but I started to learn in primary school. I want to practice more, and study more so that I can speak it better. Currently I am doing well in my classes, I am a good student. In my free time I like to read, my favorite books are storybooks and books about science.”
