Paving new trails in Antigua

Shari Blindt snapped a couple of pictures yesterday of the construction in progress at our Antigua site. The improvements will create more space for children and families to spend time in a safe, peaceful, environment. We will create a more prominent entrance and patio for the library, to encourage families to utilize the library more, and a new playground and sport court area will be constructed.

It was 2006, the last time we went to Guatemala, and the memories of the children, people, and culture we experienced there are still with us. Occasionally we still joke about attempting to teach Felipe English, getting lost in Antigua, and saying “Yo estoy embrazada.” when we meant to say “I am embarrassed.” 🙂 There are a few things in life that last forever, and our memory in Guatemala is definitely one of those. Looking at these pictures now, makes us smile and awe at what a ways “Common Hope” has come along these past few years. This is a wonderful organization that we are blessed to be a part of-God bless you all! As MJ once said, “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others M-A-K-E it happen.”
