Year in review

2012 year in reviewThank you for bringing hope to Guatemala. You made 2012 a great year and helped set us up for a promising 2013. Below are highlights of the year’s accomplishments, made possible with your support.

  • Last year, 3,104 impoverished children attended school – from elementary through university, working toward their goal of high school graduation. More than 1,600 more have access to better education thanks to the school partnerships you make possible. In November, we celebrated 147 high school graduates, whose future looks bright thanks to their accomplishment.
  • Our clinic averaged 712 medical visits every month, and by September we had filled 22,368 prescriptions for our patients. Our dentists saw an average of 180 patients each month, and clinic staff conducted a total of 4,614 screenings for things like cervical cancer, diabetes, and nutritional deficiencies.
  • A total of 41 homes and 22 stoves were built for families through September, and our families worked a total of 2,875 sweat-equity hours to earn those housing improvements.
  • Our social workers made an average of 502 visits each month to the 1,591 families that partner with us. Through September, 48 people found jobs with the help of our job placement program.

All of these accomplishments are thanks to you.
