It is the season of the jacaranda tree in Guatemala. Also the mango, bougainvillea, cashew fruit, and a salty, dried fish that people eat during Semana Santa. The jacaranda tree only flowers for a few months every year, yet it is always in bloom for Semana Santa, or Holy Week. It matches the purple robes and banners that are prevalent during the Semana Santa celebrations. Below are more photos of the season, thanks to Rudy A. Girón of Antigua Daily Photo.
