Noche de Colores a hit in Charlotte

The organizers of Noche de Colores in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Noche de Colores came to Charlotte, North Carolina on July 19, and it was a huge success. An enthusiastic crowd of more than 140 people dined on delicious tapas and shopped the Guatemalan market while enjoying music from the great Latin band Borinquen Sublime. Later on, the band was joined by salsa dancers who definitely got the crowd moving. A silent auction raised almost $5,000 for Common Hope, and five children were sponsored. Executive Director Shari Blindt gave a talk about Common Hope’s work and was able to meet a number of new people as well as long-time donors.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this event, particularly all of the volunteers who helped make the evening a success. We would also like to thank the dedicated Noche committee who worked tirelessly to organize an amazing evening. Thank you to Elise Deal, Krista Lengacher, Cathy Lum, Kay Oser, Jennifer Roberts, Sally and Zach Thomas, and Jane Wallwork!
