Celebrating Volunteer Appreciation Week

Common Hope is very lucky to have such dedicated supporters and collaborators in our work. We have an important mission and commitment to the children and families in Guatemala, and we rely on the dedication of our all-star volunteers in the U.S. and Guatemala to help us reach our goals.

This week we want to say GRACIAS to all those who have generously volunteered their time with Common Hope. Whether you have stuffed envelopes, translated letters, assisted at events, built a home, painted a wall, or read with a child – YOU are helping to break the cycle of poverty for children and families in Guatemala.

Here are some volunteer highlights from 2016:

  • U.S. office had 126 people volunteer for a total of 1,260 hours
  • 228 individuals volunteered on dental teams or as short-term and long-term volunteers in Guatemala
  • We welcomed 335 individuals to Guatemala who volunteered as part of our Vision Team Program
  • 3,200 letters from sponsors to their students were translated by our awesome volunteer translators

Without these dedicated volunteers, the work we do would not be possible. Know that we appreciate you this week and every week. ¡Mil gracias!

Gratefully,
The Staff at Common Hope | Familias de Esperanza
