I’m in 4th grade. I enjoy my math class, singing and playing soccer at recess. My dream for when I grow up is to become a firefighter. Both of my parents have less than a 6th grade education and their hope is that my brothers and I graduate from high school.
I have been waiting for a sponsor for 4 years. I’m 10 years old and in 3rd grade. I have been doing well with all of my classes. I live in San Miguel Milpas Altas with my parents and 3 siblings. My dad works as a farmer and earns around $100 each month.
What I enjoy doing the most at school is solving addition problems and studying geography. When I grow up I was to be a firefighter, builder, scientist, or doctor. I want to study hard in order to help my family more in the future so that they can have a safe place to live.
Even with the pain my dad suffers in his back, he continues to work as a carpenter. At 10 years old, I know that one day I would like to follow in his footsteps and become a carpenter, too. But first I need to graduate from high school. I am studying in 4th grade.
My brother, José, is also part of this gallery and we are both in need of a sponsor. My family is new to Common Hope and I am new to going to school. I am 4 years old and studying in kindergarten. In Guatemala, kindergarten precedes preschool.
I recently was sponsored by a member of Faith Lutheran and I am so excited that they will support me and my dream of becoming a Business Administrator!
