Dear Supporters,

Because of you, Common Hope’s revenue and programs grew in 2008. Revenue from ongoing operations surpassed $3.8 million which represents 8% growth over 2007. Despite the recession and dismal global economic news you continued to invest in the small, one-child-at-a-time success stories that are the “bottom line” for Common Hope. The 106 high school graduates listed in this report represent the human return on your investment. Each of them is a triumph against the odds in Guatemala.

We recognize that these are hard times for you, for our Guatemalan families, and for nonprofit organizations around the world. We worked very hard to ensure that your precious gifts were put to work as efficiently as possible – spending 84 cents of every dollar on programs. We ended the year in a strong financial position, confident that with the continued support of our nearly 4,900 donors, Common Hope will be able to fulfill our commitment to every child currently affiliated for whom the doors of opportunity have been opened.

More financial details are available in our audited financial statements and in our Form 990 tax return, which are available on our website.

With thanks,
