SPONSOR A STUDENT IN NEED
August 1st is just around the corner and we’re looking forward to a fun-filled day on the course. While the day is set aside for golf, we encourage you to also keep in mind the true purpose behind the tournament – to support Common Hope. A great way to do that is through sponsorship. Our goal is to find sponsors for 9 students who are in need of support.
To sponsor a student, please click on the student’s photo and then click “Sponsor this Child.” You can also contact our Sponsorship Coordinator Teresa, at TeresaH@us.commonhope.org or call 651-917-1045. She will guide you through this amazing and rewarding journey.
We thank you for your interest in supporting Common Hope and your commitment to children and families in need.
Brandon Gudiel I am 12 years old and live with my family of 7 in the community of San Miguel Milpas Altas. Next year I will transition into a new school when I start 7th grade and having a sponsor can play a significant role with my success during this, often times, difficult transition.
Alejandra Abigail I am 5 years old and I felt very happy when I started kindergarten this year. I still am working on making friends. My goal is to study hard and become a doctor when I grow up. I live in San Miguel Milpas Altas with my parents and older brother.
Ana Patricia Two of my sisters and I all have the same first name so I like to be called Paty. I am studying in 9th grade and towards the end of the school year in October I will have to make a decision about what I want to focus my studies on in high school.
Sergio Ovidio While my brother and I are in school, my mom works in the fields a few days a week. She hopes to find better work in order to improve our living situation. Right now we live in a single room made out of sheet metal and a dirt floor.
Yaneira Jasmín When I grow up I want to be a ballet dancer, but for now I’m just studying in 1st grade. My favorite part of school is when I am able to jump rope. After this year of school, I will have more education than my parents.
Maximiliano My parents and I are new to Common Hope this year. What I like doing most in school is painting, writing and reading. When I grow up I want to be a carpenter. Even though my family of three lives in very poor conditions, my parents know that education can change the future for us.
Brallan Gudiel My father works in a tire repair shop and makes very little money. My family joined the Common Hope program so that my siblings and I could have the opportunity to attend school. In a couple years, my older sister will be the first in my family to graduate from high school.
Claudia Adelia Of all of my family members, only one of us has reached 6th grade. I started school last year and I am so excited to be going with my brothers. When I am not at school, I help my mom take care of my younger siblings and I also like playing with my dolls.
Luis Gustavo This is my first year being part of the Common Hope program. I am studying in preschool and will start 1st grade in 2017. I’m too young to help my family in the field, but I do like playing soccer when I am not in school. I hope to one day graduate from 6th grade.
