Back to School Excitement

The beginning of the schoolyear brings a flurry ofpreparations - including the ritual trek to the store for pens and pencils, notebooks, and new school clothes.  It’s an exciting time as we prepare ourselves and our children for a year of new beginnings: new vocabulary words, algebra problems, art projects, sporting events.  New friends, achievements, discoveries, inspirations.  Many families in Guatemala can’t afford a trip to the store for school supplies or the requisite uniforms, let alone the school tuition.  Without the help of Common Hope, these children won’t experience the thrill of the first day of school, nor that of a new vocabulary word learned or algebra problem solved.
