Where Are They Now?
As part of our 20th Anniversary celebration, we thought it would be fun to tell you about some of the students who have been with Common Hope almost since the beginning. We think you’ll be as proud of their accomplishments as we are!

René Ruáno |
| René was 8 years old when he became involved with Common Hope 16 years ago. As a child, René had bad knee problems that prevented him from attending school. Common Hope helped him get the treatments and medicine he needed to allow him to return to school. René’s passion is music. He plays guitar and sings in his church. His dream is to attend a music conservatory someday, but for now he is studying accounting and preparing to graduate from high school this year. He plans to continue at the university. |

| Lilian has been a part of Common Hope since 1991. After graduating from high school with a degree in pre-primary education, she went on to the university. Lilian is now in her second year, studying psychology. She has been working full-time with special needs children but will soon be switching jobs to work as a pre-school teacher. She found this job with help from Common Hope’s PODER program. She is excited about her psychology studies, because she believes they will help her be a better teacher. |
