Boston Scientific unites the corporate community during Hispanic Heritage Month
To kick-off Hispanic Heritage Month, Boston Scientific HOLA (Hispanic Organization for Leadership & Advancement), hosted a Walk for Hope at Bde Maka Ska. Among the attendees were companies from across the Twin Cities and their respective Hispanic/Latino ERGS including UHG, General Mills, Land O’ Lakes, Target, U.S. Bank, Accenture, Medtronic, RSM, and Visit.org.
Boston Scientific’s unified Walk for Hope event reinforced community and was a spectacular way to pay tribute to the next generation of Latino students. Bringing together 10 corporate partners was a powerful way to inspire change and share Common Hope’s mission with others. Their walk event included speaking engagements, a food truck, prizes, music, and concluded with a group dance class!
Boston Scientific was a strong leader in this year’s Walk for Hope. During Hispanic Heritage Month, they have been on top of the Corporate Walk for Hope leader board, finishing their fundraising efforts with a total of $17,715! That funds a year of programming for 15 students! Way to go Boston Scientific! Watch a video recap of this year’s event!
While it’s important to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, the real change happens when Hispanic contributions and culture are celebrated all year long. Boston Scientific has traveled to Guatemala to volunteer and partnered with Common Hope through several engagements to fight poverty with diplomas in Guatemala. In 2021, over 390 letters from sponsors to students were translated by HOLA volunteers. The letters ensure that students feel supported on their educational journey. In addition to helping translate letters, Boston Scientific employees sponsor nine Common Hope students! These significant contributions of time, talents, and treasure ensure that Common Hope students and families are supported all year long.
Thank you to Boston Scientific for supporting community, and for striving ensure students and families in Guatemala thrive.
