In honor of Common Hope’s 30th Anniversary, this year’s event went above and beyond for the Noche de Colores celebration. A beautiful new venue, fun new games of chance, incredible auction items, and special Guatemalan guests made it a night to remember. But only YOU made it the HIGHEST GROSSING NOCHE IN COMMON HOPE HISTORY WITH OVER $300,000 RAISED!

A special commitment from an anonymous donor motivated Common Hope supporters even in advance of the event by agreeing to match all anniversary gifts of $30 or more. So, before the night even started, Common Hope had already reached and exceeded the $25,000 match – making a total gift of $50,000! THANK YOU TO ALL WHO DONATED TO THE MATCHING GIFT CHALLENGE and our ANONYMOUS DONORS!

Highlights included Bill Huebsch emceeing the evening’s festivities and connected guests to our history and our future. His charismatic, special connection to Common Hope moved attendees.

Shari Blindt recognized the impact of Common Hope – making a generation of hope real – and the vision for the next years! And, then all in attendance were deeply moved by San Rafael Community Coordinator Lesbia Marroquin’s, descriptive and emotional account of her work in San Rafael. When Lesbia announced Common Hope’s intention to expand our work into another new community, Santa Marta, and the crowd stood in excitement!

Common Hope took a moment to recognize former Country Director Tamalyn Gutierrez, who received a standing ovation for her 16 years of service to the organization. THANK YOU TAMALYN!

Glen Fladaboe led the live and needs auctions as bidder paddles raised and added another $130,000 + to the event total!

Special guests included Guatemala staff members; Jeff Barnes, Lesbia Marroquin, Renato Westby, Mynor Lemus, and Rosalina Ramos. And we welcomed our Incoming Country Director Rebecca Sanborn to the Common Hope family. WELCOME REBECCA!

Cheers to Treinta Años Mas!
