Volunteer Position Description
Are you a bilingual English/Spanish speaker wanting to be part of the change and make a difference here in Antigua? Common Hope is looking for a dedicated volunteer to work as a translator in our medical clinic for the month of October!
Common Hope is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through diplomas and we are committed to providing all of our affiliated families with access to quality education, health care, housing and social work programs.
In this volunteer position you will be working alongside an English-speaking Family Practice Physician as he provides general medical care to our Spanish-speaking affiliated families. An ideal candidate will have advanced to bilingual Spanish/English and knowledge of medical terms. Finalized schedule to be determined.
Those interested are expected to fulfill the following requirements:
• Independent and able to arrange their own accommodations and transportation to and from Common Hope
• Committed to volunteering for the entirety of this position’s duration
• Strong Spanish/English language skills and cultural awareness
• 21+years old
