Position: Sponsor Relations Coordinator
Location: Common Hope, St. Paul, MN
Reports to: Strategic Relations and Development Director
Conditions: Full-time Employee

Organizational Summary
Common Hope promotes hope and opportunity in Guatemala through a comprehensive approach that includes education, health care and housing. We work with impoverished children, families and communities to improve lives and break the cycle of poverty.


Position Purpose
Relationships are at the heart of the Common Hope Sponsorship Model. Common Hope believes it is imperative to facilitate an extraordinary sponsorship experience in order to maintain a revenue model that includes 40% or more recurring revenue.

The Sponsor Relations Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and promoting efficient and meaningful relationships with sponsors. Specifically, the Sponsor Relations Coordinator’s focus is to deliver the Sponsor Communications Plan, provide support for sponsors to meet their sponsored student, to serve as the liaison for sponsorship inquiries, and educate sponsors about Common Hope programs and models.

Sponsor Relations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors and potential sponsors by providing excellent customer service
• Coordinate the relationship between sponsor and student/family
• Effectively communicate the vision and needs of Common Hope and its programs
• Educate sponsors on the Common Hope model and programs in Guatemala
• Serve as liaison for sponsor and student to ensure safety protocols
• Support the retention of sponsors at an annual rate of 78% or greater in part through the Sponsor Communications Plan
• Facilitate communications that support student success and sponsor engagement
• Encourage and promote participation in sponsor/student relationships
• Coordinate sponsorship visits with Guatemala sponsorship team

Volunteer Management
• Manage volunteers to implement Sponsor Communications Plan
• Recruit, train and schedule volunteers to deliver sponsor relations programming
• Ensure the appropriate utilization of volunteers to efficiently deliver sponsor program

• Manage retention communications including disaffiliation and graduation
• Collaborate with Guatemala sponsorship team regularly to secure information about programs and students
• Execute the successful implementation of the Sponsor Communications Plan
• Deliver Student Activity Reports
• Produce birthday greetings
• Execute annual graduation, holiday and promotion communications
• Initiate student investigations
• Conduct anniversary program
• Support Community Outreach & Partnerships Manager with Sponsorpalooza
• Run monthly status report on sponsorship numbers and evaluation
• Maintain accurate information in Raiser’s Edge and Familias Databases
• Initiate, record and track payment methods
• Coordinate and deliver processes and protocols for activity, photo and letters online and in office
• Work with Strategic Relations Coordinator to track sponsorship payment and pledge systems
• Collaborate with Visitor Experience Team, Associate Director of Marketing and Community Outreach Manager as appropriate
• Create student bios and materials for presentations
• Manage and update sponsorship and student information on the website with support of marketing team

• Excellent communication skills — effective listening, writing, speaking, and presentation
• Able to identify an opportunity, create an action plan, and bring plan to fruition
• Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and able to multi-task
• Computer savvy with a preference for experienced users of The Raisers Edge
• An understanding of the role of development in non-profit organizations
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience
• Bilingual Spanish Proficiency
