An experience of a lifetime, impacting another.

Experience a Vision Team

Common Hope's Vision Teams provide a Sunday to Saturday immersive experience, with weeks available from May to October 2024. This presents a unique opportunity for you to join fellow individual travelers as a member of our Vision Team at our enchanting site in Antigua.

As a Vision Team member traveling with Common Hope Familias de Esperanza, you'll have the extraordinary opportunity to witness our programs firsthand and engage with our dedicated staff, volunteers, and the students and families we serve. We're currently organizing service trips to Guatemala for individuals interested in joining us, offering a chance to make a significant impact in the lives of students and families in need while immersing yourself in Guatemala's vibrant culture and breathtaking landscapes.

Here's what you can expect during your trip:

  • Dates and Duration: We currently have weeks available between late May to early October 2024, spanning Sunday - Saturday. These dates are carefully chosen to provide volunteers with the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the local community and learn more about Common Hope and the programs we offer to our affiliated families.

  • Projects and Initiatives: During your time with us, you'll have the opportunity to engage in a diverse range of projects aimed at bolstering our education, healthcare, and housing initiatives. Whether you're lending a hand in construction alongside our housing team, participating in educational activities with children, or assisting in other programs we offer, your involvement will have a meaningful and lasting impact.

  • Requirements and Qualifications: To travel on a Vision Team, all team members must be aged 16 and above. Furthermore, if there are travelers under the age of 18, they must be accompanied by a designated chaperone. We do request that volunteers approach the experience with a positive attitude, a readiness to learn, and a dedication to making a difference. While basic Spanish language skills are beneficial, they are not mandatory, as we offer translators to facilitate effective communication.

  • Logistics: Common Hope takes care of all logistics during your stay in Guatemala, including accommodations, ground transportation, and meals. We want you to focus on your experience and the impact you're making, so we handle the details to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip.

  • Costs: The complete cost for each traveler amounts to $1700, covering room and board accommodations, on-site meals, ground transportation, and translation services. It's important to note that volunteers must arrange and cover their own airfare to and from Guatemala. While this fee provides comprehensive support, it does not extend to airfare, additional in-country travel beyond the Common Hope experience, off-site evening meals, souvenirs, etc.

This is an incredible opportunity to not only give back but also to explore a beautiful country and connect with its people in a meaningful way. If you are interested in this opportunity, please fill out the form below mentioning the dates that you would be interested in traveling and one of our staff members will contact you promptly.
