Honoring Decades of Dreams at Noche de Colores

On the evening of May 26, 2026, Quincy Hall came alive with color, warmth, and the kind of energy that only happens when a community truly believes in something. Friends, longtime supporters, and new faces gathered together for Noche de Colores 2026: Honoring Decades of Dreams, a milestone celebration marking 40 years of transforming lives and strengthening communities in Guatemala.

It was a night to remember. And thanks to the incredible generosity in that room, together we raised $325,000! Every gift advances our shared mission of partnering with children, families, and communities to build a future full of hope and opportunity.

A Legacy Worth Celebrating: Ripples, Waves, and a Tsunami of Goodness

The evening opened with an artisan marketplace featuring handcrafted products from Guatemala, a silent auction, and the energy of a community that genuinely loves what it has built together.

Executive Director Jocelyn Skolnik shared about the power of good actions during her speech.

The highlight of the night was the story - forty years in the making. Executive Director Jocelyn Skolnik took a moment to reflect on the founders who started it all: Dave, Betty, and John Huebsch, as well as everyone who has continued to carry their vision forward over the years.

That image stayed in the room. Because that is exactly what 40 years of Common Hope looks like: thousands of individual moments of support, belief, and opportunity that have spread far beyond what any one person could have imagined.

The 2026 Champion of Hope: Bill Huebsch and Family

On this milestone anniversary, it felt especially right to honor the family at the heart of Common Hope's founding story. This year's Champion of Hope Award was presented to Bill Huebsch and his family, recognizing their vision, compassion, and commitment, qualities that have made everything possible.

Hearing from Bill on Common Hope's 40th anniversary was a powerful reminder of where it all began and how far we have come together.

Lili Rosarios: From Student to Board Member

The room grew quiet as Lili Rosarios took the stage. A Common Hope graduate, Lili is now a Certified Public Accountant and Auditor and leads the finance department at the Chamber of Industry of Guatemala. She also serves on Common Hope's Board of Directors, giving back to the organization that helped her dream bigger.

Honoring Decades of Dreams: Lili's Story

"In my community, many girls grow up believing that dreams have limits, and I honestly grew up believing that too. But in 2002, my story began to change when I entered the New Hope school." Lili shared. Lili's story is proof of what becomes possible when a child is given access to education, support, and a community that believes in them. To everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, and believed: thank you.

Together, we have served more than 4,300 families, supported over 28,000 individuals, and provided more than 11,000 scholarships. The best part is that behind every number is a story of a student who stayed in school, a family that found stability, a dream that didn't have to wait.
