For nearly two years, Eunice has been making a difference as a social worker at Common Hope, and she couldn’t be happier with the work she’s doing. Time has flown by for her as she dedicates herself to work she’s truly passionate about. For Eunice, teamwork means everyone coming together to work toward a shared goal, and she’s grateful to be part of a team that does just that.
For a social worker, this often means collaborating with education and family development department staff to address various cases. Each social worker manages a caseload of approximately 100 families, and Common Hope currently supports 2,021 affiliated families. For Eunice, collaboration is key in building relationships with families. She says, “I consider relationships as the basis for everything to flow and progress.”
Eunice emphasizes the importance of efficient follow-up and establishing trust with families. She believes that from the very first visit, it is essential not just to arrive and exchange information but to also earn a family’s trust by listening attentively. “We always tell families that communication is key. If any situation arises, they need to inform us so we can stay informed and provide appropriate follow-up.”
In her role, Eunice can also use her English skills. When asked about translating for a sponsorship visit, she said, “Well, let's try it! It was a wonderful experience. In fact, I enjoyed it so much last year that I resumed my English studies after putting them on hold. I was excited about the opportunity to help in that area and practice my skills.”
Eunice’s commitment to teamwork showcases her dedication to both her role as a social worker and her clients, making a significant impact on the lives of families throughout San Miguel Escobar, San Pedro, Las Huertas and San Pedro Panorama.
